Inverter Duty Motors from Hindustan Electric Motors are specially engineered for variable voltage and frequency (VVVF) operation using VFDs. Featuring dual-coated Class H windings and vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) insulation, these motors withstand high dV/dt pulses (up to 1.2 kV/µs) from modern drives—ensuring maximum durability and reliability.

To maintain thermal performance at low speeds, these motors include separate cooling fans, preventing overheating when run below synchronous speed.

For larger frames (315+), insulated non-drive-end bearings are provided to mitigate shaft currents and prolong bearing life.

Key Specifications:

  • Frame Size: 100L to 400LX
  • Power Rating: 1.5 to 710.0 kW
  • Poles: 2, 4, 6 & 8
  • Mountings: B3, B5, B14 & combinations
  • Protection Class: IP55
  • Enclosure Types: IC411, IC416; others on request
  • Voltage: 415 V ±10%
  • Frequency: 50 Hz ±5%

Performance & Speed Limits:

  • Supports operation from 5 Hz to >50 Hz, maintaining torque with dedicated fan-driven cooling.
  • Maximum safe shaft speeds range from 1800 – 5200 rpm, depending on frame and pole configuration.
  • Suitable for continuous operation across varied loads and speeds with stable power output.

Applications & Benefits:

Ideal for precision speed control in pumps, HVAC systems, conveyors, and processing lines where VFD control is essential. These motors excel in energy efficiency, reduced maintenance, and extended lifespan—even under demanding operational conditions. Their enhanced insulation and cooling make them perfect for modern industrial automation .
